The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Public Sector & Defence Sales Director (Europe) to lead Classiq’s expansion across European public institutions, focusing on NATO, the European Commission, the European Defence Agency (EDA), national Ministries, Research & Innovation agencies, and government-funded / national programs in the EU connected with the adoption of Quantum technology.

This highly strategic role involves developing and closing opportunities with European and transnational bodies driving quantum innovation, cybersecurity modernisation, and emerging-technology adoption.

The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with European government procurement and research frameworks, established relationships across defence and research communities, and proven experience introducing advanced or dual-use technologies to public customers.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full European public-sector sales cycle — from strategic prospecting and stakeholder engagement through proposal, negotiation, and contract signature.
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for European defence and institutional clients, aligned with Classiq’s global growth objectives and in collaboration with the CRO and local leadership.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with stakeholders in:
  • NATO Communications & Information Agency (NCIA), Allied Command Transformation, and other NATO innovation programmes.
  • European Commission DGs (CNECT, DEFIS, RTD, HOME, DIGIT).
  • European Defence Agency (EDA), European Space Agency (ESA), and EU member-state ministries.
  • Engage with prime contractors and systems integrators active in EU and NATO programmes (e.g., Airbus Defence, Thales, Leonardo, Indra, CGI Federal Europe).
  • Coordinate RFP/RFI responses and submissions for Horizon Europe, EDF, or NATO DIANA opportunities in partnership with technical and legal teams.
  • Monitor EU policy developments and funding frameworks related to quantum computing, high-performance computing, cybersecurity, and AI.
  • Collaborate with marketing and government-affairs to craft campaigns, events, and messaging tailored to the European institutional audience.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline and provide accurate forecasting and account reporting.

Requirements

  • 5 + years in public-sector or defence technology sales, with a strong record exceeding revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated understanding of EU, NATO, and national procurement frameworks, including EDF, Horizon Europe, OCCAR, NSPA, or ESA contract structures.
  • Existing relationships with officials or programme leads across European defence, R&D, or digital-transformation bodies are strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling advanced or dual-use technologies (SaaS, HPC, AI, cybersecurity, or quantum) into government and institutional accounts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex technical value to varied stakeholders (policy, procurement, R&D).
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial drive and cross-cultural fluency, capable of navigating multinational organisations and lengthy procurement cycles.
  • Familiarity with quantum computing, HPC, or secure-communications programmes is a plus.
  • Eligibility for NATO / EU Secret clearance (or national equivalent) preferred.

Why Join Us

  • Play a pivotal role in advancing national security innovation through quantum computing.
  • Join a cutting-edge company working with world-class researchers, engineers, and leaders.
  • Competitive compensation package, including base salary, commission, and equity.
  • Flexible, remote-friendly work environment with mission-driven impact.
  • Opportunity to shape how quantum computing is adopted within the US Federal landscape.
