Description
At Classiq Technologies, we’re shaping the future of quantum computing.
Our mission is to make quantum computing practical and impactful by bridging the gap between hardware and real-world applications. Our platform enables developers and enterprises to design, optimize, and deploy quantum algorithms at scale, automating complex processes and supporting teams from beginners to experts across diverse architectures.
Classiq is trusted by Fortune 500 leaders and global governments. We accelerate the quantum era with a platform that transforms bold quantum ideas into working applications.
You’ll join Classiq as a senior, hands-on Tech Lead / Staff Engineer and be part of our Execution Team, which is responsible for architecting and executing quantum circuits, providing a robust and convenient interface for running quantum algorithms, and integrating multiple execution backends (Simulators, HPC environments and quantum hardware), methods, and infrastructure into the product.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can quickly understand complex systems, drive organized technical solutions, and lead by example—both technically and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a professional authority within the team: guide engineers, set standards, and introduce technical procedures.
- Take technical ownership of the quantum execution architecture, quickly ramping up on existing systems and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Design and evolve scalable, well-structured solutions for executing large quantum circuits across multiple execution methods and infrastructures, while providing easy interface for the users.
- Lead and mentor complex technical initiatives end-to-end: from architecture and design decisions to implementation and validation.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, compiler teams, infrastructure teams, and non-technical stakeholders; clearly explain technical trade-offs and decisions.
- Contribute to improving execution performance, scalability, and reliability, including areas related to HPC and advanced compute environments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong, hands-on Python expertise – hard requirement.
- Prior Experience in Tech Lead / Staff Engineer / Architect roles.
- Willingness and ability to learn quantum computing concepts and domain-specific abstractions.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and containerized environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to fellow team members.
Bonus Points:
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to initiate and drive change.
- Experience with HPC systems, performance-critical workloads, or distributed execution environments.
- Proven ability to dive deep into complex systems and guide others through design and implementation.
- Previous exposure to quantum computing frameworks or execution models (Classiq, Qiskit, Cirq, etc.).
- Strong system design skills and a structured, organized approach to solving complex problems.
