We are seeking an experienced Pre sales - Post sale Field Engineer to join our growing APAC Team in Tokyo, Japan. The Field Engineer will support the sales team and sales operations to drive sales opportunities, demonstrate our product, train our customers and sales team, provide post deployment technical assistance, and assist in achieving our sales goals.
Scope:
As a subject matter expert on our offerings, products, the Field Engineer will assist sales managers in qualifying customers’ technical requirements, demonstrating the technical and operational features of the D-Fend product line, and answer all questions related to our products to the satisfaction of the customer. The Field Engineer will ensure proper handover of information to the Professional Services Team to prepare them for client engagements and project implementation by sharing knowledge gained about the customer environment, systems, and risk profile. The Field Engineer will also carry lessons learned from their activities and present these to the relevant product teams to supply input for the strategic direction of the product line. The Field Engineer would also visit existing customers periodically and provide post deployment technical support when necessary.
Specific Duties and Activities:
- Product demonstration and presentation – Prepare, present, and demonstrate Company’s products to prospective customers
- Conduct Proof-of-Concepts, (POCs) and relevant field trials
- Manage technical documentation requested by customers (RFP/RFI/Solution description and more)
- Work and communicate efficiently with the customer, internal teams, and other external interfaces to provide the best product demonstration to the customer
- Communicate all technical and operational features and benefits of the Company’s products to the customer
- Enable new sales opportunities by constantly collecting information about new customer requirements, changes in the field of c-UAV/counter drones, and potential competitors
- Communicate with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues
- Conduct research and studies on site
- Conduct site survey for potential customers, size requirements and prepare proposals
- Manage field activities and implement engineering designs
- Diagnose construction or machinery problems
- Resolve malfunctions or other crises when they arise
- Oversee repairs and technical improvements
- Install new systems and technology
- Inspect and test material and machinery for safety
- Ensure proper maintenance of onsite equipment
- Supervise and direct onsite crew (e.g. technicians)
- Draft and submit reports (POC, trials etc.)
- Visit existing customers
- Provide post deployment technical support
Mandatory Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Pre sales and Post sales Field Engineer or similar role
- Availability for a full-time position, Tokyo, Japan.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills – serve as subject matter expert on product platforms while leading customer meetings and technical/operational discussions
- Ability to conduct all aspects of system demonstrations including handling demo cargo, independently setting up equipment in the field, operating/trouble-shooting the system and presenting its values to customers and partners.
- Technical/Operational field background in operating tactical/RF systems (operating radars as an advantage).
- Strong self-study and research skills, ability to work independently and within/across international teams.
- Located in Tokyo.
- Well-versed in technical aspects of field projects, including machinery and equipment

- Outstanding communication skills in English and Japanese
- An analytical mind and strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to work in adverse weather and occasional overtime and weekends
- Ability to translate technical overviews to basic level that easily understandable
- Charisma in interacting with customers
- Basic technical knowledge of networking, it and drone technologies
- Comfortable with presenting and performing demonstrations of D-Fend Solutions in outdoors conditions
- Comfortable with handling demo equipment and setup
- Possess or acquire a 2nd Class Remote Pilot License from MLIT within 3 months of employment
