The Job

Own is looking for a Principal Security Specialist, Physical and Insider Threat with expertise in insider threat management and physical security to join our security team. Reporting to the Director of Security Operations, you will be responsible for proactively identifying and mitigating insider threats, managing physical security, and leading incident response investigations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact and contribute to the overall security posture of Own.

Your Day-to-Day Role

  • Lead incident investigation efforts, coordinating with cross-functional teams to contain, investigate, and remediate security issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement insider threat detection and mitigation strategies, including monitoring of user activities, behavior analytics, and policy enforcement.
  • Handle physical security, such as unauthorized access, suspicious activities, and security incidents, collaborating with facility management and law enforcement as needed.
  • Lead primary purple team defense activities, conducting simulated attacks and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of our physical and insider security controls and defenses.
  • Develop and maintain business continuity planning and disaster recovery (BCPDR) strategies and procedures to ensure the resilience of our operations in the face of disruptions and emergencies.

Your Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, Information Security, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • CISSP, CISM, or other relevant certifications preferred. Forensics Certifications preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in information security, with a focus on insider threat management, physical security, and incident response.
  • Proven track record of managing security operations and responding to security incidents effectively.
  • Deep understanding of insider threat detection and mitigation techniques, including user behavior analytics, data loss prevention (DLP), and access controls.
  • Experience with physical security management, including access control systems, surveillance systems, and security protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of business continuity planning and disaster recovery (BCPDR) principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage and coordinate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate security risks effectively.

Important Details

This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will work out of our Englewood Cliffs, NJ office a minimum of 3 days per week to maximize collaboration and interaction with the business. Travel may be required.
