The Quality Control Specialist - Legal Pro Editor is responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of legal transcripts produced by the Legal Pro team. This role serves as a key quality gatekeeper, maintaining company standards for grammar, formatting, and legal terminology while supporting expedited client deadlines. The QC Editor provides feedback to the QC Manager to assist in the coaching and growth of the Legal Pro and promote continuous improvement and uphold high-quality deliverables across all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and edit completed transcripts for accuracy, formatting, and adherence to company and client specifications.
- Identify and correct grammatical, punctuation, and stylistic errors while maintaining legal and procedural accuracy.
- Verify transcript completeness, ensuring all exhibits, speaker identifications, and annotations meet quality standards.
- Provide constructive feedback and performance notes to transcriptionists and editors to support ongoing skill development.
- Collaborate with team leads to resolve quality issues, clarify client requirements, and align with departmental objectives.
- Track and report on quality trends, identifying areas for process improvement and training opportunities.
- Ensure expedited and same-day transcripts meet both turnaround time and quality expectations.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all client materials and sensitive information.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in legal transcription, editing, or quality control.
- Advanced understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and formatting standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.
- Strong grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with ASR (Automated Speech Recognition) editing and legal transcript management systems preferred.
Schedule:
- A 40-hour work week on a mutually agreed-upon schedule will be required.
- Coverage may include evening or weekend hours to support expedite and overflow needs.

Our compensation for the role is $17/hr and will align with the candidate’s experience and skill set.
