Description
The Opportunity
Zencity powers the work of government with community voices. Our platform helps 400+ cities, counties, and public safety agencies understand what residents need, engage them meaningfully, and act on their input.
We're hiring a Director of Product to lead Community Voices - the foundation of how governments hear from their communities. You'll own vision, roadmap, delivery, and outcomes for two core modules: Ask (survey and engagement tools) and Listen (social listening and sentiment analysis).
You'll lead a team of product managers and designers, partner with engineering and our Applied AI team, and drive measurable impact on business objectives.
Why Now
Community Voices is at an inflection point. The product is foundational to Zencity's value proposition, but we're pushing it to do more: deeper AI integration, stronger multi-product connections, and a more compelling retention story.
You're joining as we:
- Transform our products with AI-powered capabilities (our Applied AI team is a core partner, not a service org)
- Expand into additional local government segments - markets that require strategic product thinking, not just feature tweaks
- Build an integrated platform where Ask and Listen work together as a unified resident engagement system
The Tel Aviv-based team is strong. They need a leader who can elevate strategic thinking while maintaining execution velocity.
What You'll Own
Product Line Strategy
- Define and evolve the vision for Community Voices - positioning, sequencing, and success metrics tied to retention and expansion
- Drive strategic market initiatives
- Partner with Applied AI leadership to embed intelligence into the product experience
Team Leadership
- Lead a team of 3: 1 Sr. PM, 1 PM, and a Senior Product Designer
- Hire, coach, and develop product talent - building the next generation of product leaders at Zencity
- Establish operating rhythms that increase team velocity and cross-functional alignment
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as peer-level partner to Engineering and Applied AI Directors
- Partner with GTM, CS, and Marketing on go-to-market planning and customer success motions
- Represent product in strategic customer conversations, sales roadshows, and RFPs
What's Hard
We'll be direct about the challenge:
- Retention is the scoreboard. Community Voices is critical to our clients ability to realize value from our platform. You'll need to ship a product that changes customer behavior, not just adds features.
- AI is opportunity and expectation. Customers expect AI-powered insights. You'll need to partner deeply with our Applied AI team to deliver - without falling into the trap of AI for AI's sake.
- Two modules, one story. Ask and Listen have historically operated as separate products. You'll need to drive the integrated narrative and experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years in product management in B2B SaaS, including 2+ years leading PMs
- Experience owning a full product line or major product area - strategy through outcomes
- Strong cross-functional leadership - builds trust with engineering, design, GTM, and customer teams
- Deep customer instincts - comfortable synthesizing feedback from enterprise buyers and end users
- Ability to travel to our Tel Aviv office.
Preferred
- Government, enterprise, or public sector experience
- Background in survey tools, community engagement, or civic tech
- Experience building AI/ML-powered product experiences (not just "AI features")
- Track record operating in lean, high-growth environments
What Sets You Apart
- You've led product through a retention turnaround - you know the difference between "shipped" and "adopted"
- You can hold strategic vision while managing through organizational ambiguity
- You're comfortable making decisions without perfect data - especially in contexts where customer behavior is hard to instrument
- Your past team members have grown into stronger product leaders because of you
